Description: Shown in this 1955 photograph, taken at Sutter's Fort, is the wedding dress, worn by Martha Jane Reed, a survivor of the infamous Donner Party. She married Frank Lewis, in Santa Cruz, California, on Christmas Day 1856. Sutter's Fort is located at Twenty-Seventh and Streets.
