This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Sergeant Chris Blank," probably referring to the officer at the right. Photo shows the Potrero Police Station at 609 20th Street, a small one-story false front Italianate structure. Three police officers are posed in front of the entrance. Two men in civilian dress are standing next to R. Ferland Shoe Repair at the right. Numerous posters are tacked onto the fence at left, including one advertising Banker Tobacco and another endorsing Union Labor candidate P.H. McCarthy for mayor.
