Description
A truck heads towards a small town of square adobe homes located in a dry desert valley and surrounded by a mountain range. A dog stands in front of the doors of a building. A man and a child wait on the corner. A truck and donkey are in the foreground of the image. Between 1983-1988, the 80's were considered to be the "lost decade" because of Mexico's debt crisis. This was due to the falling oil prices that left Mexico without foreign currencies to pay off its $80 billion debt. This in effect, increased high levels of unemployement, especially in rural areas.
