Description
Image of head-and-shoulders portraits of the four brothers who comprised the acrobatic comedy troupe the Byrne Brothers: John F. Byrne, James Byrne, Andrew, Byne, and Matthew Byrne, in oval frames decorated with flowers and leaves; the poster advertises the pantomime-comedy the "New Eight Bells."
Probable date based on similar image with the same text copyrighted by the U.S. Printing Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1899 and held by the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. "Greve / Show Print / Co. / Milwaukee, Wis. / 536"--text, bottom right. "The / World's Greatest / Acrobatic / Actors"--text, center.
