Photograph of a man standing near a water ditch at the bank of Los Angeles River, north side of Griffith Park, ca.1900. The ditch (full of water) has been dug at left. A stand of trees is beside the relatively still water. Originally, the record was entitled as "Man standing next to the headwater of the Los Angeles River, north side of Griffith Park ". The Los Angeles River's headwaters, however, are farther NW in the San Fernando Valley, CA.
