Description
Six views of the Whittier State School (later, Fred C. Nelles School); shows several two-story rustic, shingle and tile-roofed, Colonial style, ivy-covered brick buildings (one newer building looks similar to the Spanish Colonial style stucco building of the Alhambra School, see Acc. #'s Martin-6286 and Martin-3299) on grassy and tree-covered grounds. Built in 1891 as a school for juvenile offenders; 11850 E. Whittier Boulevard. Whittier. View 1 (Martin-7133). Ivy-covered building -- view 2 (Martin-7135).
