Title supplied by cataloger. The Security Trust and Savings Bank building, known as the Security Pacific National Bank Building, is Long Beach Historic Landmark no. 16.52.470. Built between 1923 and 1925, it was designed by architects Curlett and Beelman and is a classic Beaux Arts building. Divided into three parts of base, midsection, and attic, it is faced in contrasting light marble and dark red brick and crowned with a classical cornice. The three-story base has a recessed entryway behind giant Corinthian columns. The ornament is classically derived. Pedestrians stroll on the pier in this view of Pine Avenue in Long beach looking north from the foot of the pier. The building on the right later became the State Theatre building. Next to the Hotel Schuyler, left, is a multi-story bulding with a peaked roof. A billboard, center, in front of the Security Trust and Savings Bank building, advertises "Velvet, makes a corking good cigarette". Awnings hang over the many businesses lining the sidewalk.
