Description
Photograph of the construction of the then-new Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California, ca.1919-1925. Several early automobiles are parked in the unpaved lot in front of a framework structure which stands at the base of a depression being smoothed by plowhorses, as evident from the regularized tracks in the dirt. A group of horses are visible on the top left edge of the depression in the distance as well as plowing in the basin of the depression. A tractor is visible in basin to the right, along with several people rounding the hill still further right. A picket fence terminates just shy of the basin at left.
