Description
Canter's Deli is a famous Jewish delicatessen in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles. It opened in 1931 in Boyle Heights, and moved to its current location at 419 N. Fairfax Ave. in 1953. Many celebrities have dined at Canter's through out its years; some names include: Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller, Cary Grant, Elvis, Wilt Chamberlain, Stevie Wonder, Muhammad Ali, Bill Cosby, Robert Redford, and numerous others. The famous deli celebrated its 75th anniversary in August 2006.
Gary Canter, owner of Canter's Restaurant, and grandson of original owner Ben Canter.
