Description
Note: Information von A. Frenz: Es handelt sich nicht um F.J. Josenhans. Er war 1851/52 in Indien. Hirner kam 1871 nach Indien. Note translation: A. Frenz wonders about the accuracy of the caption. Josenhans was on a tour of inspection in India in 1851-2, and Hirner only arrived in India in 1871. - If it is really a photograph of Inspector Josenhans in India this would be very important, and perhaps the earliest photograph we can display from India in this collection. The possibility should not be dismissed out of hand - Josenhans was still a young man when he visited India in 1851-2. (PJ 08.2002).
