Photograph caption dated April 6, 1960 reads "Gov. Edmund G. Brown, center, sits in 1897 De Dion Bouton automobile prior to opening of new sections of Ventura Freeway. At left is Jack Givens, president of Encino Chamber of Commerce, and at right Mrs. Macy Coffin, also from chamber. This was oldest car in caravan of vintage autos which toured freeway today."
