Caretaker Harry Trimble unlatches a creaky lock of the former estate of Greek-born Alexander Pantages (1867-1936), located at 590 N. Vermont Ave. The structure, built by a forgotten Mexican General, was purchased by the local Jewish Council and will be completely razed to accomodate a new Jewish community center.
