Photograph caption dated May 1, 1950 reads, "Children at Sepulveda Playground have Clare Armstrong as May Queen with Jean McNeill and Marsha Bickart as attendants. Afternoon program, 'California Welcomes the Spring,' includes traditional May pole dance, other dances, songs and acts. Similar activities were scheduled in all Valley recreation centers today."
