Description
View of the Brockman Building, located at 700 S. Grand and the corner of 7th St. in the South Park District of Downtown. Built in 1917, it was one of the first reinforced concrete and steel buildings. The 12-story Brockman was also one of the tallest buildings in Los Angeles, soaring within inches of the old 150' height limit in Downtown. The architect was Harrison Albright. This view shows the first floor of the building being renovated to accomodate a Brooks Brothers clothing store. Los Angeles architects Mayer and Kanner are overseeing the renovation.
