Byars, a graduating senior at John Burroughs High School in Burbank, was honored for saving the life of a 6-year-old boy while traveling through Texas last summer. Byars, son of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Byars, pulled the child, who had stopped breathing from a swimming pool and administered artificial respiration."
