Description
This circa 1922 postcard shows a moonlit K Street, looking west, between Sixth and Seventh streets. In the distance are the Federal building and Post Office and the steeples of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. This is a prime example of a "hold-to-light" or "moonlight" card which, while depicting what was likely a daytime scene, was altered with indigo-colored ink and the insertion of the moon to transform the scene to one of night time.
