The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on September 2, 1981 states: "Near-record temperatures this summer have taken their toll on Northern California as reservoirs are lowered and marinas are faced with closure. At Brown's Ravine in Folsom Lake, boat owners are having to give up their births."
