Photograph caption dated October 17, 1961 reads, "Getting orders from Choctaw nation 'Chief' Bernie Jorgensen are 'Indians' (from left) Danny Edgar, 8; Douglas Edgar, 6; Mike Hermes, 7; Scott Wilkie, 7, and Roger Jorgensen, 9. Event, held Sunday at Pierce College Stadium in Woodland Hills, was sponsored by the West Valley YMCA. A YMCA spokesman said about 1,800 persons turned out for the father-son pow-wow in which about 1,000 of the fathers and sons participated. Although event was a success, the heat was blamed for discouraging another 1,200 from attending."
