Description
A mild mannered man walked into the office of a U.S. Steel vice president 12/22 and said he had an award for the firm, and spilled the dark evil-smelling contents of a bottle across the room's white rug, (L). It was the "Fox," a shadowy anti-pollution crusader who takes his battle to the enemy. The "Fox" shown fleeing the scene (C) after committing the "foul" deed, told newspaper columnist Mike Royko that he got the "mess" from a drain at the steel company's Gary, Ind. plant. At (R) a secretary pursues the Fox. He maintains that if the company's claims that they are not polluting the water are true, the fluid he spilled should not hurt the rug.
