Photograph caption dated June 23, 1960 reads, "A century old - Dalton Oliver of Van Nuys shuns use of cane offered by great-granddaughter, Susan Younkin, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Younkin, 16388 Index St., Granada Hills. Despite age of 100, Oliver says he feels much too spry 'to ever have to use one.'"
