Description
Photograph shows "Chico's New Amusement. On photo: Rough sketch of the building in which is located a swimming tank 120 feet in diameter, holding 280, 000 gal. of water. A scenic merry-go-round 70 feet in diameter, accomodating 200 people. An auditorium 126 feet in diameter, seating 4000 people. The building is located at the head of Flume Street, only two blocks from the main business section of the city, and one block from the Northern Electric Railway Depot. It is circular in shape and original in design and construction, having the largest dome in the United States. The enterprise was promoted by a stock company under the name of the Rotunda Bath and Amusement Company. F. D. Robbins of Chico is president and S. T. Axtell secretary and treasurer."
