Photograph was edited for publication purposes San Fernando High School, originally called San Fernando Union High School, was established in 1896 and is one of the oldest high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school was originally located on Fifth and Hager Streets in the City of San Fernando. In 1906, the school moved to a new campus at 130 North Brand Boulevard, the present day location of San Fernando Middle School. San Fernando High School moved again in 1952, to its present location in Pacoima. Photograph caption dated March 16, 1955 reads "Ned Thompson, left, and Jere Hille examine 1906 newspapers found in cornerstone of historic 'C' building on campus of San Fernando Junior High School while Postmaster Roland Wilson and Principal D. Adelaide Williams look over other relics. Old building is being leveled to make way for rally area." San Fernando Middle School is located at 130 North Brand Boulevard in San Fernando.
