Photograph caption dated October 16, 1950 reads "Phoning in. Ed Briggs, telephone company communications man, finds out needs at his station and from his mobile transmitting unit radioed in the plea for help." The article partially reads "In the Valley some 75 'hams' went through a mock emergency earthquake test yesterday. The simulated disaster was conducted to demonstrate to the Valley Civilian Emergency corps of the radio amateur's worth during any emergency."; See images #00136329 through #00136331 for all photos in this series.
