Description
Image of the Beach Road north of Santa Monica, California (in present-day Pacific Palisades), with the Japanese fishing village next to the Long Wharf at upper right. The Santa Monica Canyon Beach House can be seen at the mouth of the canyon beyond the wharf, with the beaches of Santa Monica and the bluffs farther south.
This is a copy negative (a photograph of another photograph). "Beach Road north of Santa Monica, Cal. ©Taylor - S.M." is on item. Title devised by cataloger; date devised by cataloger based on development of area; the Santa Monica Bath House was built in 1916 and the Long Wharf was completed dismantled by 1920 (see Ernest Marquez, Santa Monica Beach, pages 79-80).
