Photograph caption dated November 2, 1960 reads, "Pedro Armendariz, 26, watches over his sheep at a Reseda pasture that soon may be overrun by houses. He's held out so far, but it's probably only a matter of time until he and his charges are forced to move farther out into the hinterlands. Shepherd Armendariz, who came here from Spain, grazes his sheep on various pastures in the Valley. Residents think the sheep present a lovely pastoral scene, but, like the cowmen, don't want the critters downwind. Armendariz lives at 3040 Norwood Pl., Alhambra."
