Description
Written on reverse of print: "Old Pellier Nursery house where first prune trees were brought into this state. Mr. Pellier's house, San Jose. First frame house. Still standing. Mr. Pellier bringing the prune to Cal. from France. The nursery and gardens extending from the residence back of Notre Dame Convent W near where the Vendome Hotel now stands. The citizens congregating of Sundays to eat the fruit and recreate in the gardens."
