Three Navajo Indians and a horse in front of a hogan in the desert. Title transcribed from item. Signed on mount, "Frederick Monsen." Monsen's typed label on back says: "A Navajo Home on the Desert. The structure shown in the picture is called a hogan and is the only shelter of these people. In the summer they live on the desert, but move to the high forest-clad mesas in the winter where fuel and the shelter of trees are available."
