Description
Stegner relates his investigation into the Owens Valley conflict with the City of Los Angeles. He interviews Owens Valley residents who complain of water shortages and unfair treatment by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He describes the landscape of the Owens Valley and comments on the environmental impact of the Los Angeles Aqueduct's water pumping. Last two pages included with article contain responses to Stegner's piece from both the Director of Public Affairs at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and a resident of Chino. Stegner responds to the director on last page of document. Article published March 1981 and responses, in June 1981 edition of magazine.
