Description
Photograph of "The Cheat" by Hon. John Collier, a painting depicting four people playing cards, ca.1900. A woman is depicted standing by a table with a game of cards on top of it, while smugly looking down towards a second woman to the right. The second woman is visible sitting down towards the right while holding up a hand of cards and frowning. Both women can be seen wearing ball gowns. Sitting next to them, on the same table, two men wearing tuxedos are also looking at the second woman with what seems to be disappointed expressions on their faces. A wall with paintings, a framed mirror, a flower jar, a chest and a pilar fill in the backdrop.
