Kenneth Hopper writes Mr. B. Inoue, of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., saying that he hopes that when Hopper is in Japan, he can discuss how the information he is collecting can be taught to others. Hopper shares that he spent time working with a historic village in New Jersey in the early 1970s that allowed him to look deeply into the history of the management of technology. He also shares that he has a slide lecture on management character that uses historical figures to illustrate American management character and adds that when he was a consultant to N.B.C. (National Broadcasting Company) television in 1976, he gave a slide lecture on how old sailing ships operated. In the postscript, Hopper goes on to share that the father of a friend of his was a close colleague of Thomas Edison and Eddie Rickenbacker.
