Photograph caption dated December 16, 1953 reads, "Bill Trulock, left, and Mel Baker, North Hollywood Junior Chamber of Commerce representatives, call attention to the drive for pocket-sized novels for hospitalized veterans, ending Dec. 19. Containers are located in the business district. Veterans in San Fernando, Olive View and Sawtelle facilities will receive the books. Some may be sent to Long Beach Hospital, also."
