Description: Lauro Salas, the newly crowned lightweight champion, receives a kiss from his pretty wife, Angelina, also a champion in the art of tamale-making, as a reward for having won the title from Jimmy Carter after a grueling battle. Salas is shown reading George Main's account of the battle in The Herald and Express. Photo dated May 15, 1952.
