Description
V1p333a -- v1p333b
In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 333 top and center.
These photographs are contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Two views of the Central Theatre at 8th and Market Streets.
Text written under each photo: "Central Theatre S.E. corner of Eighth & Market St. 1905." Photos are actually of the post-fire Central Theatre. The car lines on Market Street have been electrified. Also, at least two photos of this corner taken during the conflagration show the pre-fire Central Theatre to have been somewhat more elaborate. The photo on page 333 top shows the theater from an angle featuring a production titled "Kidnapped." Frank P. McCann's saloon on the corner sports a fancy Rainier Beer sign. An electrified former Omnibus cable car is proceeding south on 8th. The photo on page 333 center shows the front of the theater head-on with billboards across the front.
