Text written under photo: "Funeral of Police Officers Castro & Findley murdered in discharge of their duty by crazed man at the Ferry Building. Lieutenant S.M.A. Campbell in command." View shows funeral procession, marching policemen accompanied by horse-drawn hearses, moving south on Valencia Street just past 19th. The office of Spratt's Patented Dog Cakes is at 826 Valencia. Billboards for Carnation Milk, Townsend's Glace Fruits, and Hopsburger Beer can be seen. Date estimate based on post-fire architecture, numerous vacant lots, and the fact that overhead trolley wire is in place while the cable slot has not yet been taken out. Charles F. Castor and Thomas Finnelly were killed by Paolos Prandoegos, Greek fugitive they were trying to arrest outside Ferry Building in Nov. 1911. Funeral for two officers held Nov. 29, 1911.
