Description
Captain John Sutter's kitchen and dining room are the focus of this 1939 postcard. Tucked into the southwest portion of the fort, the kitchen was part of a three celled area, comprised of the Captain's living quarters, office and, as pictured, personal kitchen. Contained within the kitchen were an oak table, porcelain plates, iron knives and forks, and copper cooking pots.
