In the San Diego night life area the air is filled with the latest tunes and the shuffling of dancing feet as defense workers and servicemen forget the worries of the job. There are all classes of night spots from the big places offering big-name bands to the little joings with nickel "canned" music in phog=nographs. Many of the workers go from spot to spot, leaving a stream of silver and greenbacks behind them. Building permit figures indicate that many more night spots are going up to cater to the 45,000 more workers expected by June. Photo date: February 4, 1941.
