Shelby Flint, 21 years old at the time, was a new mother and grew up in the Valley where she graduated from Birmingham High School in Van Nuys.
Photograph caption dated February 6, 1961 reads, "Shelby Flint Strums on Guitar -- Her recording of 'Angel on My Shoulder' is in top 10."
