Bust-length portrait.
Born Alice Geraldine Farrar in Melrose, Massachusetts in 1882. A singer, she made her opera debut in 1901 at the Royal Opera House in Berlin, went on to become one of greatest opera singers of all time. She wrote two autobiographies and was a songwriter. Made movies with Cecile B. DeMille between 1915 and 1920.
