Description
Contains an excellent survey of the early history of grape growing in the eastern United States with an eight-page bibliography of grape books and pamphlets. Cf. Gabler, p. 19. The first chapter of this work is devoted to the American grape, with a synopsis of the varietals starting on page 98 and continuing to page 188 where the bibliography of American grape literature starts and continues to page 126. The first chapter also includes pictures of some of the early American varietals.
