Description
Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. A photograph of the artist's conception of the completed Boulder Dam, plus statistics: 727 ft. above bed rock, 660 ft. thick at the base, 45 ft. at the crest, crest lenth 1180 ft., amount of concrete in the dam 6,500,000 tons, and installed capacity of the power plant, 1,835,000 horse power.
