Description
Photograph of Mission Santa Barbara, showing bell tower from northeast, California, ca.1900. At left, a wooden picket fence abuts a large stone wall at right. Over the top of the wall, large trees are visible and obstruct and great portion of the image. In the background at center, the large bell tower can be seen. The body of the bell tower is divided into three rectangular sections. Each rectangular section is smaller than the section below it, and small arched openings can be seen along the sides of the upper sections. Part of a bell can be seen in the upper niche of the bell tower. Atop the tower, a small dome is visible with a decorative column at its apex.
