Annotation translation: "The lower half of the village shrine of Pudjun. There are more than 500 little wooden figures of people, which have been brought together with the offerings at times of illness, during birth, and in similar times of difficulty. We are told they are slaves for the deities. The interpretation is not certain, yet, however, and there could be other interpretations."
Annotation: "Untere Hälfte des Dorfheiligtums von Pudjun. Darin über 500 hölzerne Männlein, die gleichzeitig mit dem Opfer hingebracht werden in Krankheitsfällen, bei Geburten & dergl. Nöten. Es sollen laut einer Angabe Sklaven sein für die Götter. Die Deutung steht noch nicht fest, es gibt mehrere Möglichkeiten."
