Photograph caption dated March 28, 1960 reads, "Green-thumb-itis hit Valley today in fever of spring gardening that ranged from posies to petrol planting in San Fernando. Retired Indiana farmer, Alva Holloway, 820 N. Brand Blvd., left, aided his wife, Bess, left, and neighbor, Mrs. Grace Annin, 827 N. Brand Blvd., in rose pruning, while on larger scale, and with hoe-of-another-size, diesel operator James McCallam turned earth to plant gasoline tank at San Fernando road and Hubbard street."; See images #00118951 through #00118952 for all photos in this series.
