Description
Pow wow! These words struck terror into the hearts of many American settlers during the 1800s for it meant the Indians were on the warpath. But today the words have a different connotation, as will be evidenced by the giant Plains Indian Pow Wow, which will be performed as the featured attraction at the Santa Monica Indian Ceremonial Show, due Friday, Saturday May 31-June 2 at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Pictured in traditional dress is young Glen Ahhaitty, through whose veins runs the blood of three Indian tribes: Cherokee, Comanche and Kowa, and will be among the 200 or more participants in the Pow Wow scheduled for Saturday only, January 12, from noon to 4 p.m.
