Photograph article dated August 8, 1963 partially reads, "Assembly Speaker Jesse M. Unruh says it is an 'impossibility' to separate politics and education if education is to have any value. Unruh, speaking Wednesday at the summer session for teachers at Robert Fulton Junior High School in Van Nuys, explained it is the politicians who levy the money for an educational system and pass laws affecting credentials and curriculum." Speaker Unruh, left, speaks to teachers in Van Nuys. He is greeted by Ralph Richardson, Los Angeles Board of Education member.
