Description: Communist Party leader Mrs. LaRue McCormick in court on August 2, 1938, with two unidentified attorneys. She was arrested on July 19 during a Workers' Alliance sit-in at the Los Angeles County Relief Administration headquarters. Persons protesting there were demanding an increase in benefits for the unemployed.
