Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Hotel Washington showing the court, Monterey, ca.1890. The L-shaped three-story adobe complex of the hotel stands a little into the distance at center, showing a clearing in front covered with patchy grass. Much of the spackle is coming off of the main building of the L, and what appear to be a set of wooden steps lead up to the second floor. The shorter portion of the complex stands to the right, perpendicular to the central building. It is only two-stories tall, and features similar wooden stepsthat lead to the second-floor porch and entrances. A tree can be seen to the far left.
