Description
Photograph of the Acoma Pueblo's wall of defense, ca.1900. The long high adobe wall surrounding the city is dotted with small high windows spaced at wide intervals. Three rows of exposed rafter tails piercing the wall suggest the height is at least three stories. The wall extends thousands of feet wide in this view. The rock surface of Mesa Encantada on which the wall sits is dotted with a few shrubs.
