Description
Annotation translation: "Anna Ngutane."
Annotation: "Anna Ngutane."
Note: "Nz Monkuob." (Ch. M. Geary, E-30-0,7 und E-30-0,8). - " Kg. Ndj. Rede unterstrichen]." (Wuhrmann, A., 1917. Beschreibung zu den Lichtbildern aus Bamum. E-30-0,6).
Note translation: "It is Nz Monkuob." (C. M. Geary, E-30-0,7 and E-30-0,8). - K[ing] Ndj[oyas] Uncle with his christian wives. 34 of the King s uncles 100 wives have been baptised. We are very happy to see how this non-christian husband holds to his christian wives, how he favours them before many others, and how easy he makes it for his baptsied wives to be loyal to the things of God . If you visit his wives and speak to them about spiritual matters, if you sing hymns or teach biblical texts or hold a bible-study, this non-christian husband is always present with his whole heart. He is also careful to make sure that his baptised wives do not involve themselves in matters which are alien to christianity. His justification for this attitude is correct and simple: His wives have accepted the New, so the should leave the Old on one side. (A. Wuhrmann, 1917, Commentaries on Slides from Bamum, E-30-0,6. K 338).
