Description
Silver necklace is representative of the Navajo squash blossom necklace design. The design's origins lay in the Spanish introduction of the crescent shape (in turn introduced to them by the Moors), ornaments of which shape were traded to the Navajo and used as necklaces. The "squash blossom" beads were never intended to represent their namesake, but were probably named such as a result of poor translation or misunderstanding of Navajo culture. With turquoise
